Wow! This is a locals secret! Phenomenal food that is so fresh & tasty! Great ambience and super tasting seafood! We hit this place several times on our beach trips & always are there the day we arrive on openings... The service is A+ as they are accommodating and friendly! This is the place to be for Fish Tacos.. HUGE & Fresh! Special salads, plates & chowder.. With much more! Love eating at the Pacific Beach Fish Shop and wish they had one in Las Vegas. We did find their sister store in Point Loma, The Point Loma Fish Shop that is the Exact same thing! So so Yummy!!!

This was a massive bright spot during our staycation and I regret not posting this review a long time ago. First off I have to commend them for being one of the few restaurants in all of the state that when you call them to ask a question, they actually pick up the phone and answer your question. I can't tell you how many places I've called where they don't pick up the phone and ultimately don't take the time to answer your question. The woman who answered the phone and took my question was very friendly and informative. She knew the answer but even double checked. When it comes to dietary/allergy restrictions = this is a real game changer. We showed up at a good time. There wasn't much of a line and the parking situation, given their location, can get a bit challenging. The seating is immense though. There are tables and chairs everywhere with a cool little bar outside on the patio. We liked that it was dog friendly and saw some friendly dogs hanging out in the sun. The food was great. We ordered fish and chips + tacos. The fries were incredibly crisp and everything was cooked/prepared to perfection. After getting food poisoning from another place a couple nights before, this place was a blessing! The portions are good and the prices are fair. The staff was amazing and overall, nothing to complain about. Easiest 5 star review I've ever had to give.

Great food and options of fish including chives of salad, tacos, plates, bowls and sauces. You order at counter and they bring the food to you.

First timer... I've been to the Point Loma Fish Shop though. I find it slightly overwhelming to have to decide on everything (fish, marinade, style) from a great list of options, but thats just me. I decided on a seared ahi salad in 'fish shop seasoning' and citrus vinaigrette ($22). They definitely do not skimp on the fish here...and its all about the fish, right? Very fresh and high quality. Shining star? The onion rings! I highly recommend. The outdoor patio fire pit is a really nice spot if you can snag it. We did on a rare rainy evening in SD, so that was fun /ny.

I'm not a big seafood person but my friends are so that's how I got here lol. I got shrimp and chips (5/5) and the serving size was great and overall it's well priced. The dipping sauce was really good too.

I've heard a few good things about this place. My boyfriend and I finally had the chance to stop by for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the red snapped sandwhich and I ordered the slipper lobster, Mahi Mahi and red snapper tacos. Overall, I enjoyed my food but I think they did too much with the spices and toppings - less is more. On a scale of 1-5 I'd probably give a 3, the food wasn't bad but I would not amazing enough to interest me go back. Ambience was very cute though, they have a large patio Picnic style seating, as well as an outdoor bar with high top seating and if you see it's inside period Your order at the front and they bring your food out to you, which is my preferred dining style since you don't have to wait forever to for someone to take your order and pay your bill. They have a cute outdoor set up including a bar, so I'd probably go just to grab drinks on a sunny day vs back for food.

We came here tonight for their fish taco based on recommendations from family. My first impression is their restaurant lacks focus, and their menu is all over the map. For example, they have fish lumpia, tacos with mango and pineapple, tacos with BBQ sauce, fish and chips, shrimp cocktail, etc. Their fish tacos are marinated and topped with so many toppings that the fish gets lost. There is the option of building your own fish taco, but tonight we just got their "fish shop favorites". We came around 6:30 on a Friday night, and there's quite a line to order. But by 7:30, the line was gone. There's plenty of seating: indoors, in the bar/patio area, and an overflow area with picnic tables. It does get pretty loud when the drinks start to flow. The servers were friendly and chatty. What we ordered: + BBQ Dorado Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with BBQ sauce and skinny onion rings. You can choose flour or corn tortilla; we chose flour. + TKO Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with tropical salsa (mangoes). The mango salsa goes well with the fish. Probably our favorite of the ones we tried. + Pineapple Express Taco - marinated grilled mahi mahi with pineapples. The sauce was too sweet. Doesn't resemble a fish taco at all. + Fish lumpia - call us curious. Was ok, but didn't care for the sweet dipping sauce. + Coleslaw - not your traditional coleslaw. Mostly purple cabbage in oil and vinegar. Not my favorite. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I've had better fish taco.

Came here on a Monday night for the first time and it's such a nice spot! Lots of seating both inside and outside with heaters. I could see parking getting difficult once it fills up because they only have a few spots. You order at the front and they give you a tracker that you place on your table and they bring it out to you! We ordered the oysters, shrimp and chips, and fried calamari. I enjoyed the shrimp and chips. The shrimp were nicely fried, crispy, and pretty big! The fried calamari was good too but it wasn't anything crazy. My friend's favorite place for oysters is here and they were delicious according to him. Can't wait to come back here!

I'm always on the prowl for some great deals after work and this was a great find! All day Thursday at The Fish Shop (they have several locations) they serve 1.25 Oysters! So of course I order 2 dozen! To be honest, I can't tell the difference between the different types of oysters. All I can say was that they were fresh and it was super relaxing to eat these while looking out at the street. Carajillo - This is a new coffee cocktail that has the right amount of sweetness. Margarita was okay, I think the Carajillo is better. Smoked Salmon Taco - This is a limited offering! Get it while they have it. So delicious. Poke- Nice flavor on the poke but they only put a few chips. Totally a local vibe with plenty of seating. It started to get a little busy around 730 but it wasn't too bad. Love the Point Loma art on one wall. I imagine that it does get busy during the weekend so plan accordingly. Tips: No line when I went around 6:30 at the Point Loma location during the week. Plenty of street parking nearby.
